About Walker's Dance Troupe
Walker's Dance Troupe was established over 10 years ago to allow dancers to perform at other venues and open up doors to different dance experiences. The Troupe is organized into Senior, Junior, and Novice Companies. Participation is by invitation, and is based on faculty assessment of a student's technique and performance quality, age, number of hours of training, and style compatibility with other dancers. Dance class requirements vary according to Company.
The Dance Troupe participates in a number of local competitions and conventions each season between January and April, as well as at a National Championship during the month of June or July. These competitions provide dancers with an opportunity to perform in a variety of venues for different audiences and judges, to develop a sense of "team", and to receive numerous awards. Many competitions offer cash prizes for top scoring pieces. At Walker's, 100% of all CASH prizes won is awarded to the DANCERS!!!
